Wisdom 12.13,16-19・Ps.86.5+6,9+10,15+16・Romans 8.26-27; Matthew 13.24-43

While our reflection last week was directed on themes about growing the seed planted in our hearts and about spreading the Word of God, we have today about Jesus` description and explanation of what the Kingdom of Heaven (the Kingdom of God) is.

It may be easier for all to understand a particular place as imagery of God`s Kingdom, just as the way we understand many established Kingdoms on earth. When there is no more war and no more pain for example, we get the imagery of the fulfillment of God`s Kingdom. Either will it be possible to experience God`s Kingdom while we live on this earth, or not, that may be another point for our reflection.

Today`s readings may seem to suggest that when we live each day in truth, justice, compassion and forgiveness, it is possible for each one to experience the Kingdom of Heaven.

Our first reading today talks about God`s authority and power. God`s justice and might however is always accompanied by Kindness. We are called therefore to kindness at all times. While on earth, we are called to promote dignity of every human person. and all God`s creation. We are called to be patient and generous enough in contributing to the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven which is not only for a selected few. A bountiful harvest for the Kingdom of God will always be our goal.

OUR PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, our Source of strength, may we always recognize and acknowledge the presence of your Spirit especially in times we encounter deceptive strategies of our enemies. We trust in your providence and fidelity to us against any force of evil that may slow and hinder the growth of Your Kingdom. Teach us to be more patient and more forgiving, and more understanding. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
