Today`s Liturgy of the Word tells us of three major and of course common themes each time we reflect on the Word of God which is not limited for today`s readings only. The readings today so specifically tell us to stay full of faith and always spend our time to the deepening of our faith.
We are also reminded to be responsive to our daily calling as Christians. We sometimes quote a phrase “responsive to the call of duty.” A person who is responsive to Christian duties is someone who does not delay responding to the call of work as Christian, someone who does not neglect/omit being brother or sister to others. In these contexts, we understand the meaning of preparedness or readiness in Christian living. So it means responsiveness. One is well prepared to meet Jesus when he/she knows from the heart that he/she has been sincere in taking responsibilities/fulfilling Christian duties. In here, in faith-ng, we do not talk only about believing but also about how we live each day
Another point is about putting our trust in Jesus.
Jesus has great promises for us. We trust in Him.
Following Him and knowing Him and His teachings more will definitely lead us to greater peace and true freedom,
We already have become recipients of God`s saving action in Jesus` passion, death and resurrection. And we continue to trust in Him daily. What lies ahead which we exactly do not know will always be for our good and our holiness.
These three important advises for Christians remind us that the person in pilgrimage indeed is someone who deepens faith through being responsive to the call of duty, and putting trust in God always as to what lies in the future.
