Acts 2. 14, 22-33・ Ps 16. 8, 10, 11・1 Peter 1. 17-21・Luke 24. 13-35
The Acts of the Apostles generally talks about Jesus' disciples proclaiming the Resurrection of Jesus. Our first reading talks about the Resurrection of Jesus as a sign of God's love. The love of God frees Jesus from the eternal death condition. We rely on the story of His disciples who we consider as the first witnesses of Jesus ministry, passion, death and resurrection. Our generation responds by living our daily lives centered on Jesus, and be truly knowledgeable of His ways. We live our lives full of hope while sharing with others our own faith experience(s). We too, can become, in our generation, true witnesses of Jesus` death and Resurrection. We always have the Church where we can understand better the ways of Jesus.
How often we encounter today`s Gospel passage during our community recollections and retreats. The bible account on the Road to Emmaus invites us to always recognize Jesus in our life's journey. During Mass for example, we recognize Jesus in the breaking of the bread. With our “Awe” experiences we are being motivated to proclaim Jesus and further understanding the meaning of the breaking of the bread. May we be able to find environment, more places and more events, when and where we can recognize Jesus. May a culture of accommodating people in our well-secured spaces be the best times to recognize Jesus and truly understand His ways and purpose.
God's love is being revealed in Jesus.
May we always have a heart ready to recognize and truly meet Jesus even in seemingly unexpected places and time, situation, and unexpected people.
